There's two diametrically opposed groups of people who both want their culture to be the mainstream one. A bunch of advertising execs deciding that trannies on beer cans is marketable is a victory for once side and something to be mad about for the other. Corporate diversity initiatives didn't just pop up in a vacuum, they started doing them in response to a culture shift that is now being pushed back against. Hence a culture war. If we started getting Klansmen on beer cans, the people on the other side would be doing the exact same thing that's happening now.

I'm just pointing out that saying "marketing campaigns that appeal to a specific political alignment has nothing to do with culture war or identity politics" is simply wrong. Culture war and identity politics are based entirely around shit like that, it's all about what race X actor is in Y movie or what some nobody on twitter said about gays.
Companies do "go woke". You can point out that the main motive is profit, yeah, but that doesn't change the fact that corporate-produced products, advertising, media, etc. has an outsized influence on culture. Regardless of whether it's some emotionless suit looking at statistics or some ego-tripping zealous diversity officer who genuinely thinks he's fighting for a cause, the end result is that some company is pushing a cultural ideal on the masses, and people are either for or against it. That's the very basis of "culture war": some cultural development occurs, and people pick sides on whether they like it or not.
