I'm about to open a southern restaurant and my years of being a kitchen wagie and dumping out many full urns of unsweet tea at the end of the day have taught me that the only reason to even brew the shit is to allow people to add a little to their sweet tea to tone down the sweetness a bit.

I used to drink sweet tea up until five or six years ago.

I'm a Southerner, but I only drink hot tea with milk and no sugar. If you ever order sweet tea from a restaurant here, it's like drinking syrup with a hint of tea flavor. It's absolutely disgusting. It's not even just a Southern thing either. Asians have their bubble tea shit which is somehow worse, even though they always claim to hate overly-sweet foods.

Unsweetened, just put bags in a pitcher and leave it in the fridge overnight.

Most of it's the Fruit Sampler teas like Peach and Wild Berry, sometimes mixed. Most sweetening they'll get is if I mix it with Lemon and Sparkling water or a cocktail of 1/2 juice, 1/2 unsweetened tea in a 24oz drinking bottle when going out in the field.
