There's one downtown here but I don't bother going there because their prices are about as much as a non fast food restaurant would cost. However, I guess with the prices exploding in regular restaurants, they might be more competitive price-wise now.

One thing I noticed is that while their burgers are higher quality compared to most chains, their particular quality is closest to your average homemade burger. That is, when I make a burger at home with sesame buns, it comes out more like a Hardees/CJs burger than any other chain (the chain is Hardees here, not Carl's Jr.).

Since fast food chain burgers usually stand out from one another for their unique taste/texture/etc. , this results in most of the Hardees meals being rather inconspicuous - the Big Hardee is a metaphorical nothingburger compared to the Whopper or Big Mac. This is seen in their other offerings as well. Any kind of fast food you can get at Hardees can also be ordered in some form at JntB, Arby's, Culvers, Wendy's, etc., but all of those chains have exclusives and seem to do much better with their image and marketing.
Mind you they are known to be quality, and at my local Hardees they seem to do OK - but not nearly as well as the McD down the road.
