i've been having hard times so i've been poor fagging and food banking it so i've been using lots of canned and dried goods
i have lots of spices and ingredients in my cabinet to try and fluff things up though
most of these last at least a handful of meals for a single when you add a side of canned veggies or canned fruit for dessert and they're a welcome relief after eating bland filler like rice for days

creamy chicken and rice
>can of cream of mushroom soup, can of milk
>chicken broth or cream of chicken
>2 cups white rice
>water for the rest of the liquid needed for the rice + extra so the sauce is creamy and not sticky
>any kind of chicken you have, used a chunk white can(s) last time
>season to taste
if you have thighs you can bake the dish and it comes out better but grilling and seasoning chicken breasts then slicing works well too
can substitute tuna and maybe add cheese soup for a variation
cream of broccoli, celery or bacon soup work well here too

beef and rice
>as basic as it sounds, serve however much rice you want topped with cooked ground beef
much better if you can make a sauce for the beef, teriyaki, Korean, Szechuan, whatever you can make or have bottled in the fridge

basic chili
>1lb ground beef browned and drained
>if you're lucky some cheap kind of steak seared and sliced up
>sauté onions then a couple tablespoons of tomato paste on the fond for better flavor
>couple cans of chili or kidney beans, drained
>whatever tomato products you have handy, i like a puree or crushed and a stewed/diced in some ratio depending on size
>a cup or two of beef stock
>chili seasoning or packet
when it's halfway gone or better you can add a box or two of macaroni and cheese to stretch it out

planning on making a variation of lentil soup next

a big bag of pancake mix goes a long way
cereal with milk
a lot you can do with oatmeal if you have a decent spice rack + dried fruits, milk
