Good stuff on the strip
>bouchon
Venetian, French bistro, try the trout, mussels, oysters, fries
>din tai fung
Aria, Chinese, pork soup dumplings are a must.
>cipriani
Italian, solid pizza and pasta, good wine selection
>golden steer
Right next to the STRAT needle, old-school Las Vegas steakhouse. Fun.
>eggslut
cosmopolitan. /ck/ memes on it but I liked it
>yardbird
I’ve heard great things but I’ve never been myself

there's some more stuff on the strip i'm forgetting, I usually only go there for the high-end stuff (see below). i'll come back if I think of something

Worth leaving the strip for
>lotus of siam
Thai. Highly recommended. Crispy prawns, Khao soi, cold larb. sahara location is better and closer to the strip than the one in red rock casino. Tables hard to get.
>milpa
Worth a stop if you’re golfing in Summerlin. Closest thing to Mexico City tacos
>Xiao Long Bao
Chinatown, Cheaper version of din tai fung
>Herbs and Rye
Great cocktails, bistro, close to the strip.
>napal baji pub
Korean bbq, chinatown
>park on Fremont
Next to el Cortez. Good drinks and cheeseburgers

Minimum $250
>yui edomae sushi
Sushi, chinatown (better and cheaper than kabuto), ask to sit at the counter. least expensive place on this list.
>the capital grille
Fine dining
>bazaar meats
Sahara. Spanish bbq
>guy savoy (caesars) or Joel robuchon (mgm)
Both delicious Fine French dining. Both outrageously expensive.
>baccanal
Buffet, not my cup of tea

Avoid
>carbone (maybe it’s because I’m Italian, but I don’t think Italian food in vegas is worth the money)
>celebrity chef shit Ramsay, Fieri, Vetri, Momofuku, Milk Bar

picrel is my dog :)

Had probably the best dinner of my life at Buchon in Napa. It actually has a giant TV screen in the kitchen linked to a camera in the Buchon Vegas kitchen so I got to pop in back and waive at the Vegas chefs. It's pretty pricey though. Sticker price on our dinner was 1300 dollars for 3 people. But that included wine, champagne, cocktails, half of the menu, and literally every dessert. Different anon from Vegas, moved here about a year ago. Honestly way more chill than I expected, at least when you're away from the strip. You always have something to do, but it's all like a half an hour away so you don't have to deal with the griminess of the strip 24/7, only when you want to party.

That's just depressing. Between the loss-leader buffets being gone and this, I've got to avoid that place out of fear I'll experience a Paris Syndrome effect from it all.

I go out to Vegas to visit family often, and almost never go to the strip for food, so I got some local eats.
You'd have to make a trip out to Summerlin (about 10-20 mins away from the strip) but this is hands down a must try noodle place in Vegas: Magic Noodle. They serve spicy Sichuan beef noodle soup. It's like heaven in a goddamned bowl. (I usually order number C4, with hand cut noodles)

https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-magic-noodle-las-vegas-2

If you can get in, the other great spot is Capo's Speakeasy. Note: there is no front door. You gotta go to the back door and say Vinny sent ya. This is one of the last few spots in Vegas to get the classic Vegas experience. Usually have a guy singing Sinatra.

For Breakfast, this is also a Summerlin location: Rise & Shine. Huge portions of excellent food, great prices. Excellent juices, giant breakfast steaks.

Tried it. Food was mediocre. Caesars palace buffet was better, but only marginally. None of the buffets have excellent food anymore.

It depends. If you wanna get shithoused for cheap, watch a game and gamble you can do worse in Vegas. Personally I think video poker is boring as all get out, but I'll stick a hundo in a bar machine and play every once in a while.

Vegas gets worse every year. I've been 7 times and I like it less and less every time I go. I'll always kind of love it because I got married there. But they are outright stealing from tourists now.

honestly i dont think many of the hype 5 star $$$$$$$ restuarants are worth it. i ate at cut and it was great but for 600 dollars is just too much when there's 20 awesome options for 150.

- If you're a foodie, you NEED to go to the 200000 leagues under the sea dinner at the lost spirits distillery. It's a must even if you don't normally care for booze. (picture related)

-Sushi Fever has some of the best sushi I have ever had anywhere in the country

-Swish is great if you like Japanese hot pots

-Los Molcajetes is great if you like Mexican food and they have a cool painting of cholo Elvis near the entrance. However, it is in the ghetto.

-Sparrow and Wolf is good.

-Chinatown is where the locals go eat. There's a ton of great restaurants there that charge way less than restaurants on the strip.

>>19096914
It's nice. I think it's a hidden gem of a city if you can afford not to live in the ghetto. Low taxes, low cost of living, quality airport, stuff to do all the time. The art scene is lacking but that seems to be changing a bit with the recent influx of Californians. The school system is pure ass unless you can afford to send the kids to private school though.

I've been to the Capital Grill in Seattle. It wasn't bad, but that could be because it was neighbors to the superior Metropolitan Grille and they had to bring it or be outclassed and die. I remember nothing bad about the place, but it doesn't stick out in memory for anything either.
