We know what cows look like. Few people have any idea what fast food "fish" looks like. It's the definition of mystery meat until you read about it, but even if you do read about it, then you have to look up mercury and cadmium levels, whether it's harvested from polluted waters, etc. Land-bound meat is just so much less worry.
