there ain’t nothing like taking the wife and kids down to Kmart for some liver and onions

>> No.19081947

I use to go to Service Merchandise, Montgomery Wards and Woolworths for lunch the days I had to go to town and would last us till we got back home.

I miss those trips. Sometimes we'd do an overnight in town if we needed alot of supplies or other shopping. When we did overnights we always went to a bar and I remember there was so many people and lots of fancy wood everywhere, mirrors on the walls and ceilings, neon lights and I'd eat peanuts and coca-cola with grenadine in it.

Where are there even cafeterias anymore? I miss those days. Relatively cheap too. I am 62 now. Time sure flies.

How big are the portions? I really like cheesy mac with my fish but I don't want to look like a fatty by ordering both. Maybe I can take the girl I'm going steady with there and we can split them. $2.65 is a lot of money though, I'll definitely have to save some money from my paper route. Maybe dad will let me borrow the station wagon!

I don't see the correlation between more niggers, spics and jews and the fading of cafeteria style dining. In that case, there would be no restaurants or buffets either.

It's just a different way. Has nothing to do with the company you are with.

>> No.19083472

It's the same reason we moved away from the automats. Mostly illusion of a better experience for about the same price.

I am not saying that what you are speaking of would not exasperate the problem of a cafeteria type restaurant it's just the cafeterias in my town mostly went away in the mid to late 80s and that was far before we had a large influx of illegals and minorities.

It's just what I've seen. It wasn't the hoodlums that shut them down everywhere.
