I like beans but British beans are basically just beans in a bland tomato sauce. Half the time they eat their beans with bacon, it's so much better to cook the bacon and beans together.

When making beans, yes. Not really stewed, but we take cooked beans, season them with brown sugar, ketchup, BBQ sauce, ect. And raw bacon. Put all that in a crock or a baking dish and bake it slowly. These are what we call in the U.S. 'baked beans'
