is your alcohol use a serious detriment to your life? if no, you're not an alcoholic. if yes, can you stop voluntarily, for an extended period of time, without help? if no, you're an alcoholic and should probably go to rehab

Thanks god it's been two days I haven't had a drink. I was a little bit afraid because I had a drink every day for the past month. But it looks like I'm still on the right side of the Rubicon.

Who cares? The best part of being an alcoholic lies in knowing that you are destroying your life and the lives of your family members, and you just plain won't give a fuck because you are drunk all the time.
If anyone complains, just beat the shit out of them.
That's what most alcoholics do.

i like to call myself a problem drinker. don't feel like a real alcoholic because i've never had withdrawals/tremors or anything. but WHEN i drink, even if it's like once a month, I just can't stop. only beer though. i'm skinny but i will drink 15 or 16 before i go to sleep. if i buy a 12 pack, i'm at risk of drunk driving because I will always get in the car and drive to get more after 12, even if i leave a note on my steering wheel saying "please don't"
so basically i agree with you, i'm not a full blown alchy but i'm not a normal person capable of having just a few either

Binge drinking is defined as five shots or more over the course of two hours. Assuming you drink for 6-8 hours a day, this would equal about 15-20 shots per day.

A fifth (750 mL) is about 17 shots and a handle (1.75 LT) is about 40 shots. Therefore, an alcoholic would drink about a fifth a day or a handle every two days.

Whats the most bitter of alcohols without making a cocktail

>> No.19056389

>>19055443
The bitterness of alcohol is often attributed to the presence of certain compounds, like iso-alpha acids from hops in beer, or tannins and phenols in wine. While there isn't a definitive "most bitter" alcohol, some beverages are more bitter than others.

A few examples of bitter alcoholic beverages include:

Fernet-Branca: Fernet-Branca is an Italian amaro, a type of herbal liqueur. It is made from a blend of various herbs, roots, and spices, and is often consumed as a digestif. Its strong, bitter flavor makes it a popular choice for those seeking a bitter alcohol.

Campari: Campari is another Italian bitter liqueur, known for its vibrant red color and distinctive bitter taste. It is made from a blend of herbs, spices, fruits, and alcohol. Campari is often used as an aperitif or in cocktails like the Negroni or Americano.

Malört: Malört is a Swedish-style spiced wormwood liqueur, predominantly made in Chicago. It is known for its extremely bitter taste, which comes from the presence of wormwood, the same plant used to make absinthe.

These are just a few examples of bitter alcohols, and there may be other regional or less well-known varieties that could be considered more bitter. However, these are some of the most commonly known bitter alcohols available.
