If a restaurant's menu is over 10 items, it is guaranteed to be sysco goy-slop. There's no way they are making all that food from scratch in house. They are taking shortcuts. I would always rather have a tiny menu of homemade food than more options of worse food.

you should see the local (and only) bar in my town and the shit they serve there. it's all sysco and every dish is over $30. the app platter is about $50 and it's shitty french fries, deep fried cauliflower, a few chicken wings, and a couple deep fried mozza sticks. all came frozen and premade off of a truck that drove probably a thousand kilometers to reach this shithole. Food fucking sucks here

I hope the younger generations will realize that small menus of homemade food are better. It is ok to have 1-3 items if that's all you can make in a day.

I've been to some really nice places that seem like they care, and a lot that are not nice where it's just ok. But sometimes it's a small menu and it does seem chosen with care. The harder thing is in rural areas the hours for places tend to really vary and not be super accommodating especially during the week and in colder months.

I'd believe this if I couldn't drive 40 minutes to the next town and have half a dozen great restaurants that make their food from ingredients sourced from our valley. The one place I was worried about the first time I was in there because it has quite a big menu but if you start reading the dishes they share a lot of ingredients. The other places have relatively small menus and are always good. Food in town just sucks.

Sometimes it is more than 40 minutes to the nearest town of any size in the mountains here.

There's regions cut off from the big agricultural valleys, and even in them, some places are just lazy.
Scratch food is more effort and more of a risk if your clientele is older.
Are you American?

northern Canada. places in town were built for the old timers who basically lived in logging camps 6 months of the year and they've never bothered to adapt. We have 3 chinese restaurants in town and the one was so bland it was like they didn't use salt but people who've never ate elsewhere absolutely loved it. The strangest thing I've witness while eating out in town was someone send a chicken alfredo fettuccine back to the kitchen claiming that it was "too spicy". Even the curry place that briefly exists here wasn't even remotely spicy and people would claim it was the spiciest food ever. I'll still eat out in town if I'm really lazy or just plain bored but if I want something good to eat I go for a drive and get some real food.

I spent a year in camp about an hour and a half out in the woods that you had to take a barge to get to and they cooked better food than the places in town that people pay for. Those dinners were divine, it was like christmas or thanksgiving every night.

Why are you even in the restaurant business if you aren't trying to deliver the best product? Should be out early every morning at the market catching deals on fresh protein and seasonal produce.
Working with your spice merchants.
Anything else is just going to be a crushing grind-fest of goyslop delivery to the lowest common denominator. You might as well run a mattress store.

Every Indian, Vietnamese, Mexican, Puerto Rican, Polish, Russian, Nigerian, Italian, Brazilian, whatever the fuck restaurant that uses decent ingredients has a decently-sized menu. Sigh. Are you about 19? You sound about 19.

>Small menus are a bullshit upscale meme
Best traditional BBQ place I’ve been to has about 10 items. It’s been owned by a black family for generations so I know you’d rather slit your wrists than say anything against it. Looks like you overgeneralized again.

>Your ancestors were poor too
Uhoh, someone disrespected heckin Africa. “We’re all the same” retort deployed! No but really, I see your point, being underdeveloped is ok, make sense.

>Confirmed to live in a rural shithole
Oh right, being underdeveloped is ok but not if you’re white. I definitely didn’t see that coming.

Completely irrelevant and piss poor reading comprehension my man.
