What is the halal alternative to Sake? I heard sake is used to cover the gamey taste of the chicken in Oyakodon. Can I just not use it entirely?

Since when does chicken taste “gamey”? Just marinate it in whatever the fuck you want. It’s just chicken and eggs over rice

but they use both sake and mirin? the recipes for the soup are dashi, shoyu, sake, and mirin. I could find halal mirin but there's no alternative to sake so I guess I'll just marinate the chicken until it doesn't taste funny.

mirin is just sweet sake. find alcohol free cooking sake to substitute both and add some sugar

yeah kikkoman sells halal mirin here so I'm just gonna use that and opt out from using sake.
