Cast iron users are mentally deficient. The best metric for measuring whether cast iron is legitimately good or not is looking at restaurant kitchens. Find one restaurant kitchen that uses cast iron. I'll wait. Or commercial kitchen.
>pro tip: there are none because cast iron is a meme
Actual kitchens only use stainless steel, copper, or aluminum. None use cast iron. It turns it over the last century there has been huge advancements in cooking technology, and cast iron is deprecated and useless.

I used to enjoy mine but if you don’t season it and take care of it often it gets orangey and the only thing that happens is it looks like it comes off but does it really? Or do you just eat oiled over brown cast iron shit?

I have an aluminum one. Are the rock/granite pans ok?

you have to realize that 4chan is populated with very bitter autistic incels that have trouble understanding different viewpoints. if their single mother didn't do it for them, then it's SHIT to them and it's very hard to convince them otherwise.

The "orangey"/brown shit is called rust. Iron oxide. You can eat it, and I don't think any doctor would call it toxic, per se, but you don't need that much iron in your diet, and dietitians will tell you that supplemental iron can become free radicals in your body, causing systemic illnesses.

There's no such thing as "rock/granite pans." Those are aluminum pans that are coated with a type of ceramic that is purported to be non-toxic, at least compared to Teflon. However, these types of ceramic pans will also lose their coating much more quickly than Teflon (6-12 months with regular use, compared to a few years for Teflon).

Cast iron isn't for everyone, but I would recommend learning how to cook in a stainless pan. Once you get past the learning curve, food will not stick in the pan and they will be easy to clean.

I just cook on a shopping trolley over a fire. If I need a pan I use a man hole cover. Takes quite a big fire to heat a man hole cover up and I keep getting arrested.
