About a month after this video was released there was an email leak from Future Forward USA, a Democratic Super Pac funded by Silicon Valley donors including Eric Schmidt and Dustin Moskovitz, that revealed a lot of their strategies for the upcoming 2018 mid term elections as well as internal emails discussing past and future media initiatives. One email chain detailed how they had reached out to and ultimately paid Townsend $14,000 to make the now infamous 'Orange Fool' video as part of a campaign to demoralize Trump supporters, specifically those residing in the Upper Midwest who they felt they could target through the Townsend YouTube channel. There were already suspicions that this video was made with that intent but this email leak confirmed these fears and, well, the rest is history. There were many forum threads, specifically Reddit posts, detailing all of this but unfortunately the vast majority of the subreddits containing these posts were banned in the several years since this all took place. All the info is still out there though if you are willing to dig to find it.

It can seem as though you’re using your autism to try and validate your obsession with history by trying to revive it.
I personally don’t have a problem with Townsends as they seem relatively informative and do teach a lot of normies some genuine history, but for every townsends there’s a million larpers who just like the look of the clothing from a historical period
