Sounds like a bit of banter between the customer and waiter, and maybe the waiter didn't realize his customer was uncomfortable. And the customer didn't realize the waiter was just working for a tip.

What I've learned is people take everything the wrong god damn way. The waiter probably liked the customer and wanted to "flirt" in a completely friendly way.

Story is probably true but exaggerated because autism, and lack of proper socialization in our culture right now.

Last time I went to a restaurant, I left a few bites of food on my plate because I was full, and the waiter kept trying to pressure me into getting a to-go box. After I refused numerous times, he picked up my fork and put a small bit of food on it and said "here comes the airplane" and made airplane noises as he brought the fork to my mouth. I had to eat the rest of my plate this way. I've never been so embarrassed in my life

Yeah on a cruise I could see some foreign waiter thinking it funny that some fat ass doesnt want free cruise cake. Its not about the entertainment of one guest but if the table laughed at tubby then the wagie did his job.

Lol only way this would happen in a real american restaurant is if it were some gimmick "the waiters larp as assholes!" Dicks last resort or if it were some shithole in the wall where the server was the cook and the cook was a broke angry guy mad fat ass isnt helping his bottom line.

No server actually gives a fuck if you order dessert past increasing the tip but most servers would rather die than touch a fat ass customer. The girls flirt joke to your face then bitch and make fun of you when you order some dessert that makes them have to touch whip cream.

Cruise ship waiters don't expect anyone to tip them in cash. You have to pay a gratuity charge when you pay for your ticket so most people on cruises don't tip extra.
