Has anyone tried this stuff? It's always intrigued me even though I know it's bound to be even worse than the usual boxed or frozen shit at the store. Still, something about it tickles my autism.

Why does all that food look photoshopped in, including looking like it was photoshopped into the bowls, plates?

same reason they put elmers glue in pizzas and shoe varnish on burgers, doctored food pictures make people more likely to buy them

The food isn't bad, but kind of bland. You normally have to make about 8 servings of it at a time, so be prepared to eat whatever you make for a few days

That sounds like a lot of waste for one person, or risk eating it over time, but I imagine in a situation where you would be eating these you would not have refrigeration.

It does what it says: It'll feed you when it's all you've got, but it's not great. It gave me the shits.

not that brand, but I have tried mountain house. they make the best freeze dried foods, but even some of their stuff is not something you'd want to eat every day.

to be realistic the food should be shown served up in an old hub cap. no one in an apocalypse is eating in nice dishes.

This also tickled my autism. I bought one when it was on sale at the Costco. I do not recommend it. I recommend creating your own bucket 'o shit for a fraction of the cost. If it wasn't on sale I'd feel cheated because it's mostly a bunch of carbs you can buy at the grocery store. Literally just rice, noodles, oats, and crackers. All of recipes have very little protein too. I took it upon myself to open the bucket and add even more stuff in the bucket. I'm aware it fucks the shelf-life but that's fine with me, I'll just eat it in 10 years instead of 25. Lastly, all the food comes packed in these thin silver pouches that are not resealable so add some ziplock bags to your bucket because you don't want your food going too stale if a survival situation.

Walmart sells single portion freeze dried meals in their camping section if you'd like to sample some. Blue Mountain or something Mountain is a popular brand.
