Wasting your money, bro.
Gotta get that home fast food pipeline up and running in your kitchen.

>frozen beef patties for speed
>wonderbread buns
>sliced american cheese
>whole dills to slice thinly (pre-cut hamburger slices suck dick)
>head of lettuce and a lot of paper towels to dry it after washing
>acquire onion dicing skillz
>tater tots the best home version of fast food fries and ready in 22 minutes
>toast buns in salted butter
>steam your burger in a rubbermaid container for 2-3 minutes to give it that fast food aroma and flavor mingling

I'm telling ya once you get it going right you can go from nothin' to a full fast food meal in 25 minutes or less (with only five minutes actually in the kitchen) for a fraction of the price of going out. You'll get addicted to it.

I pay for the convenience of a hot 'n' fresh meal where I would otherwise have to pack a meal or don't have the time/access to a kitchen
>inb4 just prep/pack your meal beforehand
I prepped for 3 years when I was losing weight and that its the most depressing shit ever. Especially on days where you could go for a nice hot fresh burger but would rather not have nasty soggy buns and reheated patties

>> No.18916012

I made home-made filet-o-fish a couple of weeks ago.

Ingredients

-wonderbread hamburger bun (contains a lot of datem like a mcdonalds bun)
-van de kamp's frozen minced fish patties of wild caught pollock (same fish as mcdonald's)
-kraft tarter sauce
-field american cheese slice

Steamed the buns in a collander for 2 minutes.
Cheese is set out to get up to room temp and then goes straight on the bun out of the steamer, one half slice per sandwich
Pattie goes on the bun right after taking out of the oven.
Tartar sauce squeezed in a cup to get up to room temp before putting the fish in the oven, now slathered generously on the top bun.

The result was WAY BETTER than any of the real filet-o-fish sandwiches I've had. The cheese was the game changer. Much better than what mcdonalds uses.

You don't have to prep this. It's just grocery shopping. That's why you use frozen patties instead fresh beef, or making out your own patties.
Even by spending more on the frozen patties compared to a roll of beef you're still going to come out ahead compared to McDonalds or any other fast food place.
Also since it is a frozen patty you aren't going to get your hands dirty making them out. Just throw them straight into the skillet. Use a paper plate to make less mess. You should be able to get by with one skillet and one tray to clean when you're done. You could even use some aluminum foil to not have to clean up the tater tot tray. Just place a sheet under the tots.

I'm not into any of this because of health reasons. I'm just a cheap ass who likes fast food but doesn't want to spend $6-12 on it when I can get the same thing either slightly better, the same, or slightly worse at home for $1-3.

A filet-o-fish is almost five fuckin' dollars bro.
My filet-o-fish at home was probably not even $2 and it was superior in every way.

I absolutely fucking do
I work M-F and only eat one meal a day so following is not capable with my current work schedule/lifestyle. I will absolutely fork over $10-15 to have a hot ready meal over the $5 to prep it myself especially since I don't have access to a kitchen at work/on lunch

I used to eat 40+ McNuggets per week. I found that they are the perfect food to keep for later and reheat in the air fryer. You can eat them as they are or chop them up fine and make a decent chicken salad sloppa. I also like chopping them fine and pan frying them with eggs. Nuggets can go a long way if you use them as an ingredient rather than a meal.

Just make a diner style burger. Take a ball of ground beef out of the pack slap it on the griddle and smash it down, done. No work. Add some salt and pepper and mustard. You can make 8 of these patties for the price of one big mac.

in defense of McDonalds, their portion sizes haven't changed since the 90s but they have gotten more expensive/different preparations/formulas
also they are rotating out seasonal pies alongside their classic Apple that taste good as fuck. I had the pumpkin pie during season and now they're running Strawberry Crème and they are so fucking good. Blows their classic Apple Pies out of the water

they finally brought back the steak, egg, and cheese bagels to my area. and every day i get the same coupon on my app for something like 20-30% off a purchase over $5. the SEC Bagel is a bit over $5 so it brings the price down to $4.25 after tax, which is less than I paid 4 years ago before the scamdemic started. they even still have the grilled onions and garlic sauce, but I don't remember there being two slices of cheese
i'll do the fish-o-filet when it's 2 for $5/$6
