i'd prefer the person i'm actually learning from and who is making a success of it to actually be delivering something that takes some deiscernable talent. besides having a fancy apartment and an expensive camera he offers nothing, he has no knowledge or experience as a chef, defers all expertise to someone else and lacks any sort of charisma to make his shows worth watching for entertainment value. meanwhile chef john does without all the fancy bells and whistles but is a genuinely good cook who makes genuinely good content without the need to polish a turd.
