I blame that cancerous harpy he married. I watched their YouTube channel for a while, and it became obvious that she was out to beat down everything that made him interesting. She constantly belittled him, and was generally a narcissistic cunt.

When I graduated from college, my mom was pretty sickly. Since I was available, it was deemed I'd be the one taking care of her. Nothing too heavy, give her pills, change oxygen tanks for her, cook meals, clean the house, etc. I got to live at home rent free, no job, lots of free time. I didn't have a lot of friends anymore, they were all moving on with their lives, moving away, getting jobs, getting married. But I had time for me. My sleep schedule was kinda shit because my mom would call me in the middle of the night for help with stuff. I watched a lot of late night tv. Specifically Good Eats, which was on from like 2am to 5am. I watched it every night. I learned a lot about cooking. Not just how to make A dish, but the science behind it and related dishes. I learned techniques I hadn't thought of before. I started experimenting more with my cooking. I'd buy new stuff I hadn't tried before, made exotic cuisines and fancy desserts. My mom loved it. It was a lot of fun for me and it turned cooking and baking into a passion I still have someone today. Mom is long gone now, and I don't really have the time and money to make a lot of the stuff I used to. But the spark is still there, buried under old embers, hoping to return one day.
