I'm sure that some of these were in great shape but my experience with Long John Silvers in the past 5-10 years was always extremely bleak. Not sure what the cause for that is--but it just seems like all of the locations are in dire shape.

These sort of celebrity named themed restaurants always seem so depressing to me. They're usually more character actors or niche genre musicians so it already seems like such a limited audience familiarity, most died early in the 70's and 80's but a few ended up lasting until now by the skin of their teeth. Something about the fact that only a few older people even remember the namesake seems depressing. Treacher was basically the model Brit to a generation before even the Beatles, which is already very old by now.

Unironically, that logic is flawed. The choice and best fish get shipped overnight for a premium to landlocked areas. You'll likely get beter Tuna and Swordfish in Chicago than on the coasts.
Meanwhile, coastal places get the second best choice, which is still fine. But, people expect lower prices and more value when they are close to the source. consider the low prices for Lobster in Maine versus anywhere else.
