Warranty specifically says it does not cover overheating.

>>18842563
Everyone knows enameled cast iron isnt supposed to be used over high heat anon and to do the damage you did means you majorly fucked up overheating the pan. If you're going to buy high end cookware you have to treat it with respect.

Either you, or I, am retarded. As that is very clearly, to me at least, NOT enameled cast iron.

>Either you, or I, am retarded
definitely you. le creuset uses a somewhat textured black enamel on the inside of their skillets.

>> No.18843096

>>18843083
A quick google search shows the only le creuset that seem to have the black finish are the fry pans. The picture has a weird perspective, but it looked like a dutch oven (all of which I could find were the standard cream color) to me at first glance. This was the disconnect.

nobody actually "seasons" their cast iron and lets the burner end of the pan go to shit cuz it doesn't change anything

>> No.18843319

>>18842563
why would you buy a Le Creuset pan?
stainless + either carbon or cast iron covers everything you need

get a dutch oven on top of that if you want enamel and you're set. the dutch oven will give you much better options anyway but I'd go for Staub and not Le Creuset

>> No.18843362

its worth a try anyway. they seem to be pretty generous with replacing stuff regardless of what the fine print says.

if you don't know, you don't know. all the benefits of cast iron with no need for special care or use other than don't blast it on your stove's highest setting which you shouldn't do on regular cast iron either or you risk burning off your seasoning. i like to use mine for cooking proteins as the cast iron just gives a better sear. i use my stainless for things that require better temperature control but my enameled skillet is used almost every single day. in fact, i'm waiting for a sale to pick up a smaller 9" le creuset pan as well for when i don't really need something as big as the 12". i've had regular cast iron and i've had enameled cast iron and i'll choose enameled every time.
