I would imagine there's a lot of blending involved, especially with homogenization. I also imagine, based on rules on most other agricultural products, that there are firm limits as to how much you are allowed to blend to the limit the spread of any single point of potential hazardous contamination. So in the end, I would imagine that if bought got the same brand of milk in one part of country and compared it to the same brand bought many hundreds of miles away, you could tell the difference. But this is all a total guess.
