Taste is gone, but what about feeling chili or Sichuan pepper? When I lost my taste with covid (thankfully very quickly recovered) I did a stirfry with deep fried eggplant, chewy noodles and plenty of chili and Sichuan, was a pretty great combo of texture and mouth feel. Crispy shell with gooey centre on the eggplant bits, chew of the noodles and the hum from the chili and Sichuan made up for the lack of taste.
