Two small patches appeared on halo nevus moles on my scalp when I was 16, the skin around the mole is paler so hair grows white there. I dye it when I go out (rarely) but if you stare at it long enough you can tell it's been dyed. My lifelong dream has been to join the army but I don't want to be known as the guy with white hair patches so I want to get rid of them before I apply. pictured is Chapel Hill creamery. Not only does she sell some great fresh cheeses, she also takes the goatmilk whey and feeds it to her pigs and cows to suppliment their all-grass feed. The absolute BEST ground beef and cheese you can get.

At the same market there is a couple of mills that make their own flours and grits.

A very general answer would be yes in that a lot of sedentary people eating the standard shitty modern diet could definitely do with more protein in their diet. Though most would recommend getting it from whole food sources like meat, dairy, or beans instead of powder if you can help it.

It's especially helpful if you're planning on becoming more active.

Protein powder is just food, it's not significantly different from just eating a piece of chicken breast aside from missing a few micronutrients and being easier/more convenient to prepare/put down. If you already eat lots of protein (ie you eat a shitton of chicken or drink a lot of milk etc) then adding/replacing a meal with a protein shake is probably not going to have a huge effect.

But most people are not deliberate enough with their nutrition to be maxed out like that so as a general rule it should help. If you're underweight/average weight and want to grow a bit, having a scoop or two of protein a day in addition to what you already eat would generally be beneficial. If you're overweight you could instead try replacing one of your meals with a protein shake.

For what it's worth anon, when I lost weight counting calories/journaling my food is the thing that really made me start shedding the pounds. Especially if you've never really thought about it before it really puts into perspective how many calories are actually in "bad" foods and how easy it is to overeat on them (and part of why obesity has become such a big problem).

I know it might sound stressful to do that but it's easier than ever now that there's so many apps out there for your phone to make it quick and easy (many of them even have a barcode scanner for common foods).
