I still remember the first time I had one. Like 11pm on friday night in Revere MA, drunk as puppytits me and some friends wandered into a White Hen and while they were shopping for chips and doritos and shit I was at the counter directing this old bloke who looked like Santa to make me a sandwich: randomly chose olive loaf on crusty Italian bread with shitloads of mayo and veggies and MY GOD I haven't stopped choosing olive loaf since.

i'm torn. are cheeseburgers my favorite, or sandwiches?
i can and have eaten cheeseburgers every day consecutively for over a year, but I crave sandwiches multiple times a day. usually some sort of plain turkey or chicken that i doctor up with blue cheese/blue cheese dressing and hot sauce.

I miss white hen. All the local ones were called "Home Town Pantry" but now I think they may be something else. Last time I was in one, muhamed behind the counter reading his koran was giving me the stink eye.

My understanding is that most White Hens and Home Towns were bought out by 7-11 but with exceptions. I live in New England and the old Revere White Hen is a 7-11 but the one in Worcester is a Honey Farms now.

Comparatively White Hen was better than both, although I do respect Honey Farms as a local champ. 7-11 honestly has better junkfood but I won't go into a 7-11.
