I got a burn warning- tried to add more water and scrape the bottom- got it again

I have no clue what to do. I can’t tell how long it was cooking or if the dish is cooked. Should I just eat it or do I have to transfer it to a pan and bake it? I’m exhausted.

The veggies inside are basically al dente

Okay, yes it’s done. Thank you.

I usually slow cook the stew then cook the rice separately afterwards.
The rice is better that way, you can't really make risotto in a multi cooker because it requires constant stirring- yes it absolutely will stick.

If you ever get burn in a non stick pan it's important not to scratch the pan.
Tip everything into another container leaving whatever sticks in the pot. scrape the burnt shit out/off with a wooden spoon, rinse the pot, put the good food back into it, add some water so it won't burn again

It’s not risotto. Also it’s stainless steel not non stick lol. You sure you have an instant pot?

>>18729333
It genuinely turned out delicious, and it’s extremely healthy and quick to make. Maybe you should kys.

America and I never heard of a instant pot. I just use pots, pans, ovens, and pressure cookers.

Where in america? It is a pressure cooker, the most famous brand.

east coast. how does a pressure cooker give you a burn warning?

>> No.18729430

>>18729412
Vagueposter is vague.

I believe this time it was because the rice on the bottom started “burning”. It can also happen if the silicone ring isn’t in place properly, and so the pot can’t seal.

It’s never happened to me before so not exactly sure why it did this time.

Most dipshits who use instapots have no idea it's a pressure cooker and would be too scared to use a conventional one.

Now this is some serious sloppa. Bunch of random shit thrown together in a pressure cooker without regard for how long anything cooks. Good work, OP.

This shit happens to me when I try and make chili verde, it's because the sauce isn't thinned out enough, or is sitting on top. the instant pot required liquid at the bottom to create pressure, so if what you're cooking is too thick it'll trip the burn warning. I usually have to add anywhere from one to 2 additional cups of water or broth before its able to pressure cook.
Also, if it does thin out too much, just add a slurry of cornstarch to it after its finished to thicken back up.

Yes, the heating element sits right in the middle of the bottom so the convection current it generates causes whatever is cooking to dam up until the current is blocked and creates a bubble under the heating element. It's one of the biggest flaws with the product. I guess it's required to keep the fuzzy logic simple and probably reduces the chances of ruining the food.

I found a recipe that cooks the rice with the chicken at the same time and it says to brown the chicken first like I suggested before but it also says you need to remove the fond completely to avoid the BURN warning.

Also, only pressure cook for 6 minutes and then let it naturally release for 10 minutes, which is more inline with a typical rice recipie. 20 minutes is too much.
