18720126 No.18720126 [Reply] [Original]

I just had this for the first time of my life and it's the best thing I've ever ate.

>> No.18720133

i was so mad trying this for the first time growing up poor but being told by my parents that spam is "poor people food" despite us being too poor to afford it and then learning it's fucking delicious

>> No.18720137

It's more money than I thought it'd be. I got it for like $4, but I expected it to be like a few cents since it's can food.

>> No.18720139

>>18720137
Yeah spam is expensive. You can get 10lbs of chicken leg quarters from shartmart for $9. It is definitely not poor people food anymore, it's just retarded people food.

>> No.18720152

>>18720139
Yeah, I don't think it's worth that price even if it's good. If it was cheap like I initially thought it'd be I'd probably get it often.

Yeah I keep some as a schizo prepper type emergency food. If you buy a flat of 12 they're usually only like 2 dollars per tin.

Awful super processed meat. Would rather have a pork shoulder steak, chicken thighs, farmed trout, fresh sardines/mackerel. Those are still relatively cheap and haven't been turned into slurry.

Spam is really good. Underrated gem. It is an essential item in my camping bag for when I go into the mountains. Awesome camp food. Great at home too. So many ways to cook it.
So, spambros, I heard dollar general Spam is superior to the original. Can anyone confirm? I'm going to try it soon

I, too, would like a ranking of knock-off brands. A few years ago I bought just about every brand and private label canned tuna I could find and the results were surprising. Canned tuna is easy to find, whereas canned ham selections are more limited in individual stores.

That it was a toss-up in quality between the super expensive premium ones and (some) of the private label store brand ones, which are inexpensive. The well-known brand names were all poor to mediocre.
