Shout outs to Ike's, a SF staple. Although, I know Ike irl and he's a creepy piece of shit. Sandwiches are bomb though. True best sandwich in the Bay Area is Genova's, which is just a straight up deli and has less range than something like Ike's with its 600 sandwich menu, but is pure quality over quantity. Notably a favorite of Jack White's when he plays shows in Oakland.

Bologna is essentially a giant hot dog when unsliced. I'll share a little secret sandwich of my own creation with you. Go to the deli and get THICK sliced bologna - thick as a burger patty. Grill that bastard up and put it on a poppy seed bun with traditional Chicago dog fixins, ya onions, ya nuclear green relish, ya yellow mustard, tomato slices, sport peppers, dill slices. Comes out looking like a burger but tastes like a chicago dog. Fun party trick for summer bbqs and cookouts. I call it the hotdamburger and I've been doing this for over a decade
