There's a service here that you can call to come and set up a barbecue for you in a public space, like a park or a beach. They'll bring grills, lawn chairs, games (cornhole, etc), tents/awnings, fishing equipment, even a sound system if you want one. Food/drinks and cooking are all up to you but for everything else, they've got you covered.

I've honestly wanted to run an "authentic" American restaurant in Japan, I'd pretend to be Texan or something and serve classic Americana. The thing is, Japanese people don't actually like foreign foods. They want them changed to their local tastes so it *looks* foreign but tastes Japanese. I'm also not sure how easy it'd be to get quality beef and cheese for reasonable prices. I'm sure there a lot of other hoops to jump through to open a restaurant in another country, including getting citizenship/permanent alien status. Still, I do think about whether or not it'd be a viable business. I'd love to just grill up burgers and steaks all day and larp as a cowboy for enthusiastic Japanese customers, I'd only hire white staff who are American/Canadian expats or are able to convince me they are (so no obviously European accents)

There are already plenty of American styled restaurants in Tokyo. Not like grilling on your lawn stuff lol, but burger places with an Americana vibe etc. Some of the best burgers I’ve had in my life were in Tokyo, including a “50s” themed diner type spot in harajuku
