My dad did a roadtrip through India from Kerala to Uttar Pradesh before finishing up in Nepal. His recommendation to me was that I should just go to Nepal because its like India but if it weren't filthy lol.

Highlights included every single restaurant he saw outside of the ritzy parts of some of the major cities he went to being filthy, the streets being filthy, and the train he took when his rental car died having a hole in the floor for a bathroom. You just shit onto the train tracks. Except the Indians couldn't aim apparently so the entire floor around was absolutely vile.
