Honest question

Why did boomers fall for these goofy ass products like that so much?

Eg. When we were teens I remembered my mother bought a set of forks like this which we thought looked but also felt so weird compared to the regular ones we used. When we asked what's the point of it she said they're good for "spaghetti". Wtf? Why do you need a specially weird ass 3 prong primitive looking for to eat spaghetti? Yet to this day she still pulls out that fork to eat spaghetti instead of just using the normal ones. She literally only uses that fork for spaghetti dishes. nothing else

My wife shocked me by using our food processor to shred chicken. Obviously you have to cut it into smaller sizes before processing. But it shredded the chicken very uniformly. Just 2 or 3 pulses and it's done. I may try this with beef or pork to see how it works. It's the same as "Mechanically separated meat" description that you see on a stick of Slim Jim, just limit the processing to a few pulses to leave larger chunks.

>>"Plus interest and whatever else"

That last part is pretty fucking important. Today, that would be 7.487% interest which brings a 30 year mortgage payment to $3,142. Add in average annual taxes of $2,471 ($205.00 mo) and insurance of 3K or 4K (Say $291.00 mo) and you're up to a monthly payment of $3,638.00 per month. Home shouldn't be more than 28% of your total income, so that means you should have an income up around $13,000 per month before you can even consider a move like this.

Sorry kids.

Prime rate isn’t lending rate. Mortgage rates are still 5.5 if you aren’t shitty loser with bad credit and less than a 20% down payment. So take 20% off of the 450k, add 7k for closing costs. Also consider that the average life of a mortgage is 3-5 years because everyone refinances constantly for home improvements or a lower rate.
