I tell you, there's nothing like a thick slab of breakfast pizza from a gas station that does it well, doused with hot sauce. If you know, you know.

>> No.18606691

I don't know, what is breakfast pizza? Is there egg in it?

>> No.18606695

>>18606691
Well, the best kind has egg, breakfast type meat like sausage or bacon, cheese, and white gravy (the kind you get with biscuits and gravy) for the sauce.

Casey's is probably the best known in these parts (Midwest) and they actually do two kinds, one with a nacho cheese sauce and one with the white gravy.

This one, though, is from Speedway and while it doesn't have egg it's still pretty good especially if you get it fresh.

Here's an example of Casey's (Casey's is a gas station / general store). Probably the gold standard for this sort of pizza, at least around here.

Maybe. Not many gas stations do it. I've seen it never, and I've been to many gas stations in my life. So it is believable that there's nothing like it.

I hope you're not confusing gas stations with truck stops. You get the all day breakfast or the steak at truck stops, not the stale pizza.

At some point a burger is not a burger anymore. I don’t think like a garlic aeoli sauce with chicken feta and spinach pie is a pizza. A pizza is tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, basil, and maybe toppings of some sort. But people take it too far. Is a blue cheese hamburger a burger or is it a hot hamburger sandwich? Is it a Philly cheesesteak if you add pizza sauce and mozzarella or is it then a steak Parm sandwich? I tend to take original definitions and traditional ingredients as the basis of a dish and any variations as a new dish. For example, a Chicago deep dish is not a pizza pie because it doesn’t follow the traditional structure of a pizza. It’s a pizza bake, or casserole, much like a lasagna isn’t a pizza. So you want to sit here and tell me a burger piled high with bbq pulled pork and cheesy macaroni is a burger but it’s not. It’s just a sandwich, or a melt. Sorry for my autism but people go too far with their “preferences” when it comes to declaring perfect revisions of a classic recipe. I think for it to be a burger it needs to one have a hamburger patty, and two have traditional toppings. The original burger was two slices of toasted bread with onion and tomato. Every burger thereafter was some variation of this. McDonald’s did sliced onions, ketchup, mustard, and pickles. Cheese was then introduced and due to wartime rationing mostly government (American style) cheese was utilized. It melted properly, added a light but tangy and salty flavor that enhanced the beef rather than overpower it. When you get to burgers with cheddar, bacon, I think that’s okay because it retains most of the original ingredients and feels like a standard burger whilst eating but it’s still not a burger: You would never order a Chicago dog by saying give me a hot dog. It’s its own unique recipe and a standalone affair. So you could say who has the best blue cheese hamburger melt and I’d say oh yeah that’s reasonable.. a hamburger it is not.

that looks extremely well cooked. cheese looks generous and sauce looks delectable. crust looks presentable, as expected.

I prefer breakfast pizza from gas stations that do it poorly. Still, I do enjoy it doused in hot sauce.

I was travelling through New York State (leaf fag here) and stopped at a Byrnes Dairy to gas up the old Ford Edge. I was hungry and decided to grab a slice of the breakfast pizza they have there. It was so fucking good I stopped at the next location up the interstate to grab another slice. I was drinking some breakfast beers on the drive so it was a perfect snack.

I grab a vanilla shake everytime I am in the area where there is one. As a traveling salesfag, if we had more Byrne dairies I would be much fatter. It's the only gas station to stop at for food. There burgers are good too, and I have no idea how that's possible for a gas station.

So i just stopped by kum and go and caseys on my way home from work and neither store had pizza set out. What in the actual fuck..this never happens.
