Why is it always pig for breakfast? Not that I mind, but why aren't chicken or beef more of a breakfast thing?

It's simple. Pig flavor compliments egg. And pig flavor is the only meat that goes well with sweet. Most people eat either eggs for breakfast or something sweet for breakfast.

Chicken and waffles is better with pork schnitzel. steak and eggs is good but it's just dinner for breakfast, rather have bacon and eggs.

I like those steak bagles from McDonald's. Probably the best breakfast sandwich all time.

Who else feels like most fast food places have decent breakfast? Or, alternatively, who prefers the breakfast menu? If I'm going to Burger King, it's gonna be before 10:30 AM. I'd rather have a Croissan'wich than a Whopper any day of the week. McDonald's hashbrowns are god tier. Dairy Queen has a decent bikky and grikky. Wendy's and Sonic are probably the most disappointing, but still edible.

What is lamb, chicken, duck, goose, turkey, veal, beef, boar, basically all meats work with sweet if you pick the right sweet to match with it.

I had a couple pieces of shaved beef I used to make cheesesteak heros left over, not enough to fill another sub roll, so I put them on an egg sandwich with cheese and sliced jalapenos and it was great, nice for something different

It better lends itself to curing. So it's always on hand for a quick breakfast. It cooks quickly and is cheap.

OP for what it's worth I agree with you. Chick-fil-A's breakfast is definitely a cut above McD's or the other fast food places and chicken should be more popular. Not sure about beef although I guess it could work in breakfast burritos.

that's because properly cooked (crisp) bacon, and decent sausage taste just fine without a bunch of crap glued on the surface.

in contrast, Asian breakfasts usually consist of fish and chicken

Fish is cheap protein

The Brits adopted it, sort of, in the form of kedgeree and kippers. (Though in fact in medieval times, fish must have been eaten for breakfast quite commonly in coastal communities, perhaps as a sea-pie, fish pasty, or simply grilled.) I don't know about kedgeree, but kippers probably comes from the very popular Indo-Asian diet of grilled deenz and rice for just about any meal of the day
