Dollar Generals have some food in the freezer aisle. Nothing great, but you can get your cereal, your (shitty, greasy, the outside of the bag is slimy and bloody) ground beef, hot dogs, bacon, milk, packaged deli meats and cheese, frozen pizza and tendies, eggs. It's not gourmet, but you won't starve. Also stop being retarded, I guarantee there's an actual grocery store or at least a big box shithole like walmart nearby.

There's only a single type of place I know where a Dollar General is the only store around, and that's bumfuck middle of nowhere country. And if that is your predicament, I also know for a fact there is at least one gas station or liquor store, the types with old black guys with white beards in blue jean overalls who all hang around and talk every day in lawn chairs out front. I also know that if this in fact your situation, there is likely a farmer's market on saturday that is an actual farmer's market. Not some hipster trash "market" with the same ring of people who made woodburned images of college teams and "jewelry" made from shiny rocks and cheap leather straps. The real farmer's market with actual seasonal veggies. That's where you'll get your produce, and you'll get your beer from the nigaboo hangout.

You posted this thread the other day didn't you? Does your location have produce and meat? No? Then you have to go somewhere else to get real food. I know they do carry milk, but nothing else really (mine is like that).

Is there a farmer's market in your small town? What about the local corner store? There isn't anyone who has a small produce shop (10 minutes from me) mini grocery (walkable from my house) or roadside truck fruit or veg guy? (Usually within a 10 minute drive, sometimes 15). None of your neighbors sell fruit, vegetables or eggs? Is there seriously no other grocery around? It doesn't seem like you're actually looking for help. To be frank with you. I think you are doing market research for Dollar General to try to figure out what people want to buy because no one wants the shitty home decor and they only eat the goyslop that is available because there's nothing else and/or they're druggies.

I just drive the hour and half round trip to a good grocery and stock up for a couple weeks.

Local groceries still exist all over and have since forever. You probably just don't notice because many operate as IGA's which stands for Independent Grocer's Association. It's basically a grocery "chain" that operates under the franchise model, although each individual store can vary much more than a restaurant chain and many are still branded semi-independently so you'll see something like Thompson's IGA or whatever. That's basically the local family-owned supermarket. They're in the US, Canada, and Australia.

We have these in my state, a few. Genuinely independently owned - until recently by the original family. Very similar to a national or regional chain inside and as far offerings go, just a bit more dated looking in terms of interior style compared to those giants.

Yeah. They go out of business and many of them look like fairly modern buildings but you find out that they'd been in business for 80 years because it's a local, generational family grocery store.
