I went to Kichi Kichi Omurice in Kyoto with my friends on vacation, it was a couple years before everyone on instagram was making omurice. We had a good time and the chef was really nice and personable, he came to our table to take pictures and talk to us.

I felt weird paying basically $30 for an omlette and rice (and it just tasted good, it wasn't mindblowing or anything), but it was fun and we were on vacation so whatever.

Went to Super Dawg in Chicago cause we saw it on TV, we live in the suburbs maybe 35-45 minutes away

Man to this day I feel bad for having my dad drive all the way, fries were cold, the hot dogs tasted average, and the workers were rude as hell
We could have gone to Portillos 5 minutes away from our house and had a much better experience (although their quality has dipped over the years, go to Buona instead)

Restaurant Tom Raue in Berlin for lunch - I only do lunch deals at Michelin star restaurants, I wouldn’t pay dinner prices. It’s in the top 50 in the world and has two Michelin stars. I went long before it was on Chef’s Table - I thought Tom Raue was a total prat on it and probably wouldn’t have gone after seeing that.

The food was very good although the supplement of €20 for a single langoustine was a fucking joke and I am sure it was €18 for a bottle of water which is taking the piss.

The suckling pig with dashi and ginger is in the top five dishes I have ever eaten though, it was incredible. For that reason alone I would still recommend it.
