I had high hopes for this after the Serrats deenz.
When opening the jar it's pretty much impossible not to make a mess with the oil. The tuna is absolutely swimming in it. Here you see the pepper that sits on top. It's very soft and breaks apart.

The same can not be said for the tuna. There's firm, then there's dry. This stuff is dry despite swimming in oil. Despite the color, the pepper didn't really impart much flavor to the oil. So the whole thing is just bland, dry, and messy. Disappointing.

The tuna is firm without being excessively dry. There is a good amount of smoke and the flavor makes me think of jerky. A little bit too much salt but overall pretty nice. One thing I found nice with this can and the other fishwife stuff I tried: the taste of the fish itself is somewhere in between canned and fresh-cooked, if that makes sense.

Nice to try but I wouldn't get it again at $9 a tin.

Same thing: smoky jerky flavor, a bit more on the salty side compared to the trout. The salmon comes through nicely, completely different from the Cole's or Trader Joe's smoked salmon which are nice but don't really taste like salmon anymore.

Enjoyed it a lot but this is like $11 a can, not getting it again anytime soon.

Really nice, tender chunks of salmon. I think they're swimming in the same stuff that >>18403092 posted.

Really enjoyed this one too. The quality of the fish was great. Not sure what chili crisps are supposed to be, there were random bits of not-crispy stuff in the sauce/oil.

Loved it but can't justify it at THIRTEEN DOLLARS a tin!

The quality of the fish is outstanding, the tomato sauce is perfect and I love the spice additions, especially the clove.

If there's something negative to be said for Nuri, it's that I've found the salt levels to be inconsistent. I've had tins that were fine, and others that were salt bombs. They should get that under control.

That's it for now, might post more later.

Would anyone be interested in sardines from France ? I live there and could sell tins €2-€3 depending on the variety. Shipping might be dissuasive though

crab is a meat that is just way worse when canned and tastes objectively better fresh. same can be said for mussels. as a general rule of thumb, if it comes in a shell, eat it fresh

It was actually really good. I've made food with anchovies before where I had to pick bones out of it and it was pretty fishy so I was expected that except bigger fish but it was tasty and something I feel I could snack on. Thanks for the help anon(s).

isn't canned crab only meant to be used for crab cakes or similar foods like chowder? You don't eat it out of the can.
