As a diet soda consumer and connoisseur, I'll gladly give you my review of various diet sodas.

I will agree that diet coke has the flavor of medicine. But coke zero out of a gas station fountain doesn't taste much better in comparison. But if we're talking about canned or bottled coke zero, that's a whole different ball game. Generally all of the Zero brand drinks are superior but the Zero canned and bottled versions are superb.

Although it's rare, sometimes Drpepper zero is included in the gas station fountain station and that's my favorite choice and highest rated, but I've only found it at one gas station. Default gas station fountain drink choice at the moment is diet dr pepper.

I only drink diet sodas. I prefer it. Sugary sodas are sticky and always leave you with a gross aftertaste that demands taking another sip or opening another can to fix it.

I can see why people hate diet sodas. Aside from the blind fear of "muh chemicals" that actually mean nothing. Diet sodas are much mellower and carbonation stands out a lot more.
