What does /ck/ think about them? Is it good for sitting down with the lads while slowly eating thin slices of anything? I wanted to buy one but they're a bit expensive and I really don't know if it will be a hazzle

seems gimmicky since a stone ain't that much thermal mass.
Get a yakitori and let the lads grill their own skewies while getting blasted on sake or jap beer

I got some HOT STONES...
I'll never give them up.
(she can borrow them from time to time though...)
Seriously though, why not just get a decent stoneware tile at the (porcelain tile with a natural glaze, not print-rolled, and set it up on a stand with some sterno or even tealight candles under it?
Kind of a PITA burn hazard anyway, isn't it?

Sounds cheap so why not try it. I think the main issue will be finding a material that stays heated for a long time
