Those aren't supposed to be personal dishes. You're supposed to leave them on the turntable in the middle, and everyone takes a bit of each to get a rounded meal, using the turntable to pass everything among all the diners.

Went with a bunch of dormmates to a hotpot place, including Spics and stuff, not just Asians, and the two White people couldn't wrap their heads around the concept of sharing the food from one pot, so they ordered their own sushi rolls to eat instead (and I'm pretty sure the sushi's also designed to be shared among groups of people).
