Why do Brits go crazy for this baby food?

They probably think it tastes good

There were fed it as babies/children. We all gravitate back to that kind of food we love from our childhood. Are mushy peas something magical? Of course not but neither is apple sauce or whatever soft mush you are growing up.

How are you defining "go crazy"?

I got a question for the Bongs, this looks like split pea soup, which I love but is this only mashed up peas? No seasoning or butter?

I didn't know Brits knew about guacamole? They seem generally ignorant of Mexican food. They don't even have taco bell in UK, lmao what a shit hole.

If you have ever had refried beans then you have no right to complain about mushy peas.

>> No.18331536

I'm british and I always used to avoid mushy peas because they look like vomit.
I ended up having them last year and I think they're pretty good even without childhood bias.
They're basically just the british version of refried beans, but I guess hating on mexican food doesn't get you as many /ck/ points.

Mushy beans aren't something typically given as baby food, mushy peas are. Why is it so hard to understand? Have you never heard people complain about foods with mashed banana in them before?

>> No.18331583

>>18331542
You're trying to psychoanalyse this whole thing, but maybe people just like them because they taste good and eat them because they're available.
I don't know what baby food tastes like, but I doubt it has any effect on adult tastes given that everyone eats the same baby food but ends out with different tastes as adults.

it's typically a tiddly little side dish to go with your massive pile of carbs, a concession to the idea of vegetables
>>18331243
we actually do have some taco bell shops here. i've not bothered trying it because there's usually somewhere else i can get slightly better mexican adjacent food for similar money

It's a classic pottage. What's changed is the use of locally sources herbs and spices and is why britfood became trash as people moved away from agrarian life. 18th century recipes are on par with the French and mercantilism really boosted availability of spices.
