It’s a synergistic enterprise they get free publicity and a boost from a celebrity chef he gets content for the show and it’s very easy

>show up
>ask on-site producer what’s this dive
>act chummy with the owner of the business pretend you’ve never been anywhere better even though you’re in Branson
>taste and rave about whatever garbage they’ve put together
>rinse and repeat 500 times

I still put it on discovery+ though

>always thought he was a joke, paid him no mind
>watch his hot ones intervies
>turns out he's surprisingly genuine, good guy
>watch DD&D of places he visited in my city, witch were really enthusiastic and informative
>no other celebrity chef would be caught within a hundred miles of this city
>discover some of his over the top recipes (like brussel spouts, etc) actually got my family to like a wider range of food
he's our guy /ck/

The earlier ones are more quality places and it seemed to go off the rails. Also pretty easy to detect whe he’s been genuine but yeah you nailed it

Fun show that celebrates an aspect of America that is quickly dying. Very unusual to see such a celebration of local life on a national TV show. I'll miss it when it's gone.

Every story I've heard about Guy from anyone who's met him says he's a really nice dude even when the cameras are off. It takes pretty much a whole day per restaurant to film and when there's downtime between scenes apparently he'll cook for the staff or even just help with dishes or whatever. Don't know how true that is but I want to believe it is.

I was given this from the Restaurant Tech company I used to work for as a "job well done" gift. (All I did was not slack off)

Goldbelly is the company that actually sources the product, shipping, etc. In the Guy Fieri location in Vegas they charge $15 for single, and up to $32 for a group dish. This $100 schtick that Ordinary Sausage was complaining about is because Goldbelly absolutely rapes the end consumer. I get that shipping, packaging, handling, etc. is expensive as fuck. But it's more of a licensing deal more than anything.

It seems like Guy looks like an OK dude, but he's creating a brand now. I mean, look at Jimmy Buffett- cruise ships, retirement homes, etc. After doing restaurant accounting for years, most profits are extremely razor thin. Anything to get the leg up, I say go for it.

As for the show- it's peak comfy for when I'm hungover as fuck and just binging it trying not to puke. Though some of the chef's dishes are gross as fuck to me.
