Are Bagels really a Jewish thing or is it just a new York thing and Jewish people were good at it?

Ring-shaped bread products are pretty old, and nobody really knows, but people will probably tell you it came from polish Jews. Perhaps that’s how they came to America, but they’re quite old.

The Turkish simit is traditional in Istanbul and it's pretty much just a bagel. But the Jews of Turkey were by and large Spanish, not Eastern European.

Most pastry and bread making traditions have roots in Jewish culture. To this day some of the best bakers/pastry chefs in Europe are Jewish or are people who've learned the craft under a Jewish mentor. Especially in cities renowned for their pastry like Vienna, Paris and Antwerp.

New York doesn't even exist in the pastry world.

Ring breads were an Arabic/Persian thing long predating Jewish adoption. The more modern bagel was introduced to Europe through contact with the Ottomans and eventually was adopted by the poor Jewish community.

Imagine spending all day subverting the white man and flooding the streets with cheap porn and racemixing billboards then coming home to your wife studying the Torah and whipping out your binoculars and saying "I got eyes on that big ten pound honker of yours baby" then fucking like biblical peasents.

Yeah bros I think the Jew life is for me.
