Here are foolproof instructions that a 4 year old can follow:
1. Top the rice only 3/4" with water.
2. Simmer on low until the water is no longer visible (about 5 minutes).
3. Taste it to make sure it's just about done
3.5 If it's still not done then you gently add a few tbsp of water and cook for 2 more minutes
4. Take the lid off to finish cooking and evaporate the remaining water.
