I really like a whole grain bread dipped in olive oil and balsamic vinegar then pan fried with fried ham and brie or feta and some grilled peppers and/or sun dried tomatoes. Idk what that’s called but it’s yummy. Sometimes I use Swiss cheese. It’s good.

Italian beef sandwich, plenty of drippings on the side for dipping. Super easy to make too. Just season a roast up with Italian herbs and place it in the slowcooker with a couple jars of peppercini and cook on low for like 6hours til it's pull apart tender. Serve on hoagie rolls with optional giardiniera.

its not my number 1 favourite, but grilling up a meat and cheese toastie on the good ole george foreman grill has been a recent go-to.
started out making croques with ham before switching to turkey and skipping the external cheese crust
some spicy mustard and mayo spread on the inside, sprinkle some greek seasoning, toast with mayonnaise

easily the best payoff for the least effort ive ever had in a sandwich

Not sure what region you live in, but in the Philly area we have a pepper crossbreed called the Italian Long-Hot. They’re hard to find outside of the area for some reason. I grow my own, then following common procedure with them I fry them up with garlic and olive oil. Places that serve roast porks almost always have them available to put on top and they add an excellent flavor as well as some heat. The heat can vary from next to nothing to pretty damn hot from pepper to pepper, even off of the same plant. Try that out if you haven’t and can find some.
