What’s a good way of cooking a sunny side egg completely? Just get a moderate temp? Mine have a bit of snotty stuff in them and I’m not a fan

>> No.18206753

>>18206713
The runny yolk is sunny-side up. If you're a pussy that doesn't like runny yolks, make your eggs over-hard. Or scramble them. Or make omelets. I don't really give a fuck what you do.
If you want to firm the yolks up a bit but maintain the presentation of sunny-side up, fry your eggs in butter, and spoon some of the butter over the egg yolks as they cook.

No, it’s part because my eggs are old but there is basically translucent egg fluid that doesn’t cook under the yolk that isn’t the white. I use minimal butter but that is a good idea.

>> No.18206768

Stop trying to cook with out oil, or in the case of eggs butter.

>What’s a good way of cooking a sunny side egg completely?
2 ways. First is cracking the eggs into a small sieve and letting any loose white fall through. My dad does this when he poaches eggs. Second is to put a lid over the pan. Once the steam builds up it is very easy to overcook them.

I have a single one I use exclusively for eggs and I try to be very careful to not scratch it, if its in perfect condition the substances the coating might leak are negligible

Line cook and ex breakfast shift here.
Eggs literally take patience and a firm but gentle touch. That is all.
Nobody, neither chefs nor line cooks, needs to know how to "perfectly" cook an egg because you can literally just crack another if you fuck up and they'll never be better than 90%. All the food you've ever eaten and thought was "perfect" was slapped on the plate and tossed together with little thought because cooking is more like painting with Picasso than Michelangelo
Now get in there and break some fucking eggs.

I can't tell if you guys are joking or actually have trouble cooking eggs. Just crack that shit and put a lid over it, what's hard about that exactly?
