Nope, never.
We always had one growing up in the pantry, though, just in case of apopcalype type food shortage like hurricane, meltdown, no refrigeration or electricity for a while. No one would eat it of course, just there for 5-6 years until replaced.
Deviled ham is useful though. Cream cheese blended with deviled ham, some pimentos and spices, there is a great cuban bocadito sandwich recipe using hawaiian rolls that is delicious cold from the fridge.
Maybe those hams in tins can be used to make croquetas.

On topic: I have eaten canned ham--great in a pinch if you're hungry--otherwise, it's kinda a frankenmeat, glued together with SOMETHING.
DAK premium is the bestI've ever had(camping)
But during lockdowns I was surprised that the local Dolla Tre carried a pretty decent version.
I haven't seen it since.
