Does anyone else go to Ikea just for the food? I used to eat there constantly because I’m addicted to the Swedish meatballs. Nowadays I just stop by to buy them frozen. I don’t even care if they’re allegedly made out of horse meat, they are just that good.

no but if I'm getting something I'll usually get food and some swedish foods.
they have a pretty good swedish food market too. they changed up the meatballs on my last visit and it just wasn't the same. I remember like over a decade ago the quality of food was distinctly better.

i like their salmon.
Just in general the service in Ikea was at least twice better than any local service they have in my country.
I really enjoyed going there. Maybe it was just beginners fluke though.

I miss ikea so much. I am now in a country where there is no ikea, but back when I lived in Malaysia I would regularly go to the ikea just to enjoy the restaurant. It had damn good creme caramel as well. Earlier in the year I was craving the ikea meatballs so bad that I ended up just trying to make my own, but with venison. Turned out really great but the recipe I used is now gone, 404ed

IKEA swedish meatballs are bland, as is their recipe. They don't have any of the actual spices they should feature. It should have allspice at the very least. That said, I guess I can see how they are addictive since the prices are so nice there.

I don't live within an hour of an Ikea anymore, so never go without a good reason. When I did live near one, I went often, since it was outside the mall in Woodbridge, and going to and from DC, it's just on the way like that. I always picked up some plants, party napkins and things for the kitchen. The store MADE you walk the entire store to get to the cafe, so not every trip. I usually got a salad, or coffee and dessert, not meatballs. I'd try to always get a lingonberry drink and a package of cinnamon rolls to go near the exits no matter what. Might be some tetrapak juices that were awesome and lots of gingerbread at holidays. They have a few things worth taking home, like a Daim torte for the freezer, thin cookies, or some cloudberry jam.
