Well, not from a drive-thru that does soft serve, but, yes at home. Nothing beats a cold from the fridge icy root beer, and a scoop of hard packed vanilla ice cream. Those flecks of vanilla bean will crystallize and get so yummy in the freezing soda of the foamy cap. Sip some soda, alternate to spooning a bit of ice cream. Repeat.

>>18105587
>I don't drink soda anymore because my family has a long history of kidney stones and diabetes
who told you soda = kidney stones? It's typically a high protein binge, such as a bag of pork rinds, low water consumption, and Tums supplements that kick off some stones. Drink a glass of water at bedtime with the juice of a lemon. Done.

Anyway, it's nearly as delicious with diet root beer.

not that guy, but both my dad and brother have had kidney stones, and dad ONLY drinks coca cola and has since I was born. he might drink a gatorade if he's sick, this has been over 30 years. his first kidney stone was at 28, i assume because he drank water or some shit before he found coke
brother drinks a variety, but still mostly soda, mostly coca-cola. he had his first kidney stone at 25 as he's had coke even in his baby bottle with the nipple, not exaggerating.
i started drinking water at 18 and having a soda a day, made it to 34 so far, no kidney stones.
you can HAVE SODA, just drink water also. it's like drunkards, which i am, it's fine to drink excess other shit, just try to fit water in-between.

I've had some cloyingly sweet, a generic root beer from walmart or something. I've also had decently acidic ones that tingle and don't leave a film of residue. Turns out the good ones are $7 for 4 instead of $4 for 12.

Yeah, if you do the keto diet for real you increase your kidney stones risk to 2700 times the normal rate.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2852806/
>There have been several reports about renal calculi developing in children on the ketogenic diet since the first report more than 30 years ago.9-11 The prevalence of renal caculi in people on the ketogenic diet is 3-10%, compared with 1 in several thousand in the general population.12 Chronic acidosis, dehydration, low urine pH, and fat malabsorption all contribute to the formation of uric acid and calcium oxalate stones.9,10
Soda's a pretty minor kidney stone risk increaser in comparison.
