As a kid growing up this place was always thought of as a competitor to KFC, not a fast food burger/sandwich place. It was interesting when they totally changed their marketing to weird "extreme" fast food when they joined with Carls JR, but now I just think of it as not necessarily good, just a weird calorie bomb.

No ideas if they were a fried chicken place, or if my family just only ever bought that, but seems like its gone of the menu now.

Carl's Jr. and Hardee's have a surprising amount of menu difference. Hardee's has a more simplified menu but better desserts. I like the Santa Fe chicken (or whatever it's called) from Carl's Jr. The one with the green pepper on it.
