There is no food better than thick saucy stews. Braised for hours to the point meats fall apart and melt in your mouth and all the varied flavors blend together. Unbeatable, best form of food.

Spices don't work that way. Salt does to an extent, but that's about it. Definitely not turmeric or fenugreek or other typical spices in indian cooking.
