What are some US states that are so lame, they don't really have their own claim to food fame?

Example: New Mexico. Their whole thing is Hatch green chiles. Apparently they use them in a lot of foods and make cheeseburgers with them. Whoo-whee. Other than that they have nothing besides imported cuisine from CA, TX, and Mexico.

NM Transplant reporting in. You're so goddamn right, OP. The food here is severely overrated. People always claim that it has great food, but it doesn't. Most of it is okay at best. I've had better Mexican in CA, AZ, and TX. I've had better everything else in other states too. They do nothing well here.

And hatch chiles are cool once or twice, but get old really quick. I'd take tomatillos, Poblano, Chipotles or even good taco sauce over these very uneventful chiles.

Idaho/Montana. Both states go crazy over huckleberries, and you'll be hard-pressed to find anything more exotic than a cheeseburger with something other than "American" cheese. Hard to find good produce, too, and a ton of ingredients for cooking at home. For some reason every restaurant wants to do seafood, instead of utilizing fresh local fish. I don't get it, you could find walleye on the menu everywhere in Minnesota, but you rarely see trout or whatever in Montana or Idaho. Wyoming is even worse but I mean, you expect that.
